Armand Marseille Bisque Porcelain Doll #996 - Rare Collectable
A delightful Armand Marseille Bisque Porcelain German Doll, number 996. This is stamped A14M, Koppelsdorf to the rear of the head as can be seen in the pictures. Armand Marseille were one of the largest and best known bisque doll head manufacturers from the late 19th century. This large example stamped A14M to the rear of the head is believed to date between 1920 and 1930.
The head is in good condition and the patina retains its colour. Likewise the hair is also in good condition with no real loss. The arms are quite loose, though they are still attached to the stringing. The legs are slightly loose but less so than the arms. Both sets of limbs have some marks and nicks commensurate with age. One set of eyelashes is missing and the other is loose (will be added to a small bag when despatched for safe keeping).
The clothes, whilst vintage are not original but are included in the sale, though the doll will not be dressed when despatched.
This doll is approximately 62cm tall
A very nice example of a rare collectable doll.
